During my stay in the Philippines (my second home country after Germany) from March 2013 to December 2014 with only a short break in between, I immersed myself a little bit in the SEO scene in the Philippines. I have not been too active yet on the Philippine online market, since my focus was still the German speaking world. However, I have started a few projects targeting the Philippines in order to gather some experience.
I think this is a great vote for the whole “Philippine SEO culture” that has some great (unknown) talents in its rows that only wait to be discovered. I always thought that there is a lot of potential in the Philippines that only needs to be developped. With about 100 million inhabitants, most of them English-speaking, there are many young Filipinas and Filipinos who could be recruitet for the worldwide English-speaking SEO world.
In our Philippinen Tours Scholarship Programme, I am trying to exactly do that and recruit talented young students in order to train them and maybe win them for some online marketing / SEO jobs one day. At the moment, we support two students in Cordova, Mactan Island, who study computer sciences. In addition to their daily studies, we encourage them to also complete courses on Codecademy to get some more web development skills.
We think that a good SEO needs some web development experience, apart from a good understanding how Google and its related products like Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools and Google Adwords work. Are you interested in becoming the next talented Philippine SEO? Then please feel free to contact me. I am always looking for new talents who want to learn more about search engine optimization, internet marketing and interesting web projects.
